Why I Hope Hillary Receives the Democratic Nomination

November 19, 2007

She will be easy to beat. Whether the GOP settles on Giuliani, Romney, or even Ron Paul (God forbid), Hillary will be forced to deal with the fact that because of policies supported by the GOP, there has not been a subsequent attack by al Qaeda on the United States for seven years. She will also be unable to take “the high ground.” on the War on Terror like Barak Obama, and there are enough questions about her integrity that most voters with any scruples would run from her in a heart beat.

This isn’t to say she would do badly. I figure the election would be close, with her getting at least twenty percent of the popular vote, Romney or Giuliani getting about 70 percent with the rest going to third party candidates. While this appears generous, keep in mind a lot of her votes will be invalidated as felons and illegal immigrants are not allowed to vote.

Dennis Kucinich wants some attention

November 6, 2007

As if the idea to impeach Dick Cheney were somehow a new one, Dennis Kucinich is promising to bring a measure to the floor that would call for impeachment proceedings against Dick Cheney. I have to say I am looking very much forward to it. With support for what Congress is doing at an all time low, it became obvious even to the Democrats that they needed to somehow show they weren’t sitting on their lard-butts doing nothing.

Rather than tackle such issues as energy dependence, our insecure borders, balancing the budget, or something similiarly useless and irrelevant to the American people, the impeachment of Dick Cheney, who has not been reasonably implicated in ANY crime, has become the paramount issue. Yes Kucinich, way to look out for your constituents.

Of course, Kucinich is no stranger to the idiotic. This is the same man who wanted to create a “Department of Peace”, ban handguns, end the death penalty and “restore rural communities and family farms” (i.e. pay farmers not to grow anything at the expense of the American tax payer.)

I don’t know what is wrong with the state of Ohio- my wife is a Buckeye and is for the most part normal. On the other hand, I know exactly what is wrong with Ohio, the people of that fair state have come to tolerate liberal trash like Kucinich for too long.

The Republican party should most certainly send Kucinich a Christmas card this year for being such an aid to them. After Kucinich loses his bid to impeach the President miserably, and after the Democrats finish fighting over who was supposed to keep Kucinich locked in the bathroom when Congress was in session, the American people will be ready to run these jokers out of town on a rail.

The war in Iraq is going much better and the major threat to the American economy is not unemployment, but high gas prices. While there is still much to be done to improve things, such as building a few more Gitmos, clusterbombing Iran, and capturing Osama bin Laden and executing him most cruelly, the ranting of disruptive elements such as MoveOn.org and Dennis Kucinich are falling on the ears of those who are beginning to know better.

But please, Mr. Kucinich. When your attempt at impeaching Dick Cheney fails, you are most free to move to a cabin in the woods up in New England and stay away from politics (and the public) for the rest of your life. You’d look good as a bearded woodsman!

All Is Quiet…

October 26, 2007

Pardon the relative quiet around here. I’ve been occupied between my two jobs and school. Between those and family commitments, blogging has been a rather low priority.

I enjoy blogging quite a bit, and I have enjoyed this blog immensely and look forward to continue writing it. A lot of the content is, admittedly, in your face. I am neither a psychologist or a diplomat, so tact, for the purposes of this blog, are counter-productive. When I write, it is my intention to write to make readers angry. Somehow, society has forgotten that anger can be a constructive mechanism for positive change.

The world certainly needs a large degree of this positive change. A lot of people disagree on what should be changed and how this change should be effected. As a conservative, the following are my primary points of contention:

  • The federal government has become too large and inefficient through unconstitutional usurpation of matters that states and local governments should be concerned with.
  • Our military is no longer held in esteem by the general public and even elected officials. We need another “Great White Fleet” that inspires the same fear and reverence in foreign powers that Roosevelt’s did.
  • Our energy dependence is frightening
  • We have tolerated the UN for long enough.
  • Our highways, bridges, and transportation infrastructure are hurting from neglect.
  • Our borders are bleeding with illegal immigrants who commit a crime just by crossing into our territory without our permission and go on to commit more crimes.

The solutions to these problems are more painful than a lot of us, conservative or liberal would like to admit. Our society depends on able leaders with a vision for America’s greatness. Instead, we have been plagued by partisans on both sides of the fence too occupied with their airport restroom romps or campaign finance scandals to concern themselves with trivial issues such as the welfare of the public.

This is one of many reasons why I blog, to be a plague to drooling liberals, moonbat libertarians, and conservatives that are afraid to be conservatives alike.

Pax Americana: The American Border

October 1, 2007

Introduction

I’ve decided to write a series of monthly essays on a vision for restoring the United States to preeminence and thereby making the world a more secure place. These are merely ideas of mine, most of which will probably never be considered by our leaders. It is unfortunate that the United States has not paid due diligence to its long term interests. The question of who to blame is one that is important to understand, but often the dialog on the matters of American preeminence stops here and goes no further.

Pax Americana: The American Border

Many liberals and even professing conservatives want America to have open borders. They claim that this will bring prosperity to the American nation and that it will be a boon to business. Even if this were true, at what price would this temporary prosperity come? Our homeland would be teeming with foreign nationals with little to no allegiance to the state or its people. Rather than a community of loyal citizens, we would have imported an entire population with different interests, desires, and sympathies.

Imagine a fictious software company in Minnesota (Company A) that develops an embedded operating system for home entertainment applications. The board of directors passes a measure to allow employees from a rival company (COmpany B) based in New Mexico to work for the Minnesota based company. Adopting an analog to “open borders”, these employees of Company B would be allowed to work for Company A, come and go as they please, and have company ID cards issued that would allow them unrestricted access to Company A.

Moreover, these employees would not be forced to sign NDA (non-disclosure agreements) and could steal Company A’s trade secrets and take them back to Company B. They would get the same benefits and perks that everyone at Company A had, even the Company A employees who had worked there for 25 years.

Furthermore, they would not have to learn Company A’s protocols. They would not have to abide by the dress code or code of conduct. They could come and go as they pleased, and even though the quality of their work might be sub par, since they were being paid less, they would be retained.

With the above in mind, lets answer a few questions.

How long would it take for stockholders in Company A to grow tired of this arrangement? How long until Company A became known as a laughingstock in the technology industry? Would you invest in a company that allowed rivals to come and go in such a manner as described above?

Open borders work great if you want a population of unrestrained criminals to enter without any deterent. They work great if you wish to impoverish your land, see the talents of its people become a commodity, and their welfare threatened.

As Mexico has done nothing to halt the flow of its citizens into our nation, and bears responsibility for the 12 million of its people who have invaded the United States, I believe a comprehensive solution to the above problems must involve punitive measures against Mexico.

I would propose annexing a twenty mile wide belt of Mexico’s territory along the southern border to be set up as a neutral zone. This region would be tightly monitored by both satellite and infrared systems as well as human sentries. From the Mexico border to five miles into this zone, Mexican citizens would be permitted to do business, shop, and conduct legitimate activities. At the five mile limit, conspicuous postings would warn potential intruders, or those who accidently strayed into this second area that they had entered the second belt of the neutral zone.

At ten miles from the Mexican border armed patrols, consisting of a combination military units, ICE agents, and state police would intercept anyone attempting to cross over to our soil. Lethal force would only be used when intruders initiated force against our personnel.

At the fifteen mile limit, any Mexican citizen who had made it past the first set of patrols would be subject to being engaged with lethal force on sight. While this sounds barbaric to some who profess to have academic sensibilities, it is perfectly reasonable. By providing a generous buffer zone, the odds of an unintentional crossing into American territory is virtually eliminated. The proposal is also compassionate, as the first series of patrols will not use lethal force unless required to do so.

By involving the Mexican government in the solution, both in financing the expenses incurred by our border patrol and maintenance of the security systems involved, and using their territory for a buffer zone, it requires them to be proactive in their efforts to combat illegal immigration.

While the United States must take the lead in securing the border, that does not excuse Mexico from its responsibilities. Many conservatives urge the US to act definitively, which is certainly a necessary step. It is also necessary; however, for Mexico to cooperate to make this effort the most successful. That cooperation may not be voluntary, and may require the United States to apply strict military and economic punishment to Mexico to garner compliance.

The question in this case, is not whether we are capable of using our military arm to persuade and educate Mexico, but whether we have the will.

Attention Oregon: Chuck Currie is Trying to Get Your Taxes Raised Again!

September 19, 2007

There are an estimated 15,000 homeless students in Oregon public schools, according to the Department of Education. This is certainly a travesty, as there are evidently many thousands of parents who can’t get their act together and provide their children a home.

As a father of two children, it is my responsibility to provide a home for my children. If I am unable to do that, that is a failure on my part, not that of society. If the taxpayer is to provide homes for all the homeless, it requires the government, prompted by schmucks like Currie, to take something from them first in the form of taxes.

We are taught in school from an early age that it is wrong to deprive another person of what is rightfully theirs through force. Kindergarteners are taught to not take crayons from their classmates without permission. Currie and his ilk consider it their right to demand that those who are able to work and provide for their own families to do the same for the families of strangers without their consent or blessing.

So for you guys in Oregon, please take note of the names below when you see that your property taxes have gone up, you are paying more state income tax, and gasoline is more expensive in Oregon. After you read their names, I’d urge you to contact them and find out how much they have personally contributed to the 15,000 children they use to hold your state hostage with guilt.

Ernie Chambers vs. Jehovah

September 19, 2007

Evidently there isn’t much for the State Senate in Nebraska to do, because the good Senator Ernie Chambers has filed a lawsuit against God. Yes. Go back and read that sentence again. You are not misreading it and I certainly did not mistype it.

Nebraska always struck me as a fairly conservative and hence relatively level-headed state. I suppose every once in a while someone as mentally disturbed as Ernie Chambers can get by even the most down to earth people.

Let’s forget for the moment that God is the ultimate authority on what takes place in the universe. Let’s also forget for the moment that God is neither legally nor morally bound to respond to any lawsuit by any mortal on this terrestrial sphere. We will also pretend that Chambers, by some miracle undisclosed. has not lost his mind.

Where does Chambers get the notion that it is in the public’s interest to file a frivolous lawsuit against a plaintiff that will neither show up in court of His own volition or can be forced to do so? What logical conclusion could such a lawsuit come to?

These nutjob politicians and activists will go to any length to make symbolic statements such as these. Whether it is suing God, staging “die ins” to protest the war in Iraq, or burning bras to protest “the cruel patriarchy”, one thing is clear.

It’s a shame we can’t scoop these addled masses up in front end loaders like in Soylent Green and get them off the street. Idiots like these need a steady intravenous drip of sedatives and anti-psychotic drugs
