This list is certainly far from exhaustive, given the large number of bizarre people on the web. My endeavor is to provide a concise guide to the most noteworthy.
Bitch Ph.D – The good doctor’s blog runneth over with profanity as her primary means of self-expression and her abundant references to her sexual urges and flings. She unabashedly writes about her “fuck buddy” and her “boyfriend” and her open marriage with her husband “Mr. B.” who evidently has no shortage of extra-marital excitement himself.
Obscessed with feminism and a woman’s right to solicit the murder of her unborn children, she fancies herself Planned Parenthood’s poster girl, I imagine. Her blog is evidence of three main facts- that quality control in the blogosphere is highly lacking, that feminism, although dying an ignomious death still has a few rabid adherents, and that we should not be taken by the assumption that someone with a Ph.D is necessarily a well-balanced individual.
Chuck Currie – Portland and the state of Oregon is filled with nutjobs. Chuck Currie is proof of this. Pastor of a UCC congregation in Portland, he is a self-proclaimed champion of the poor. Nothing wrong with this. Too bad he wants to do it at the American taxpayer’s expense.
He believes that the United States should beg forgiveness for invading Iraq and ending the regime of Saddam Hussein. Furthermore, he is a gun control nut who has openly stated that owning and or using a gun for lawful purposes is un-Christian:
“Let me say as a Christian pastor that we are called by God to reject violence and to turn away from weapons that take life.”
His blog is rife with rhetoric damning our military and painting them collectively as killers and thugs, while lending moral support to those who favor abortion on demand.
Gerardo Sandoval – One of the Supervisors of the city of San Francisco, he launched a quixotic and short-lived assault on the First Amendment guarantee of free speech when he attempted to get a resolution passed condemning radio commentator Michael Savage’s remarks on students who were on a hunger strike in support of illegal immigration.
Sandoval is also the same schmuck who sponsored a 2002 resolution praising Hugo Chavez’s administration for promoting democracy. More than this, the dumbass made the comment on Hannity and Colmes that the United States should not have a military.
This man is clearly a danger, not only to his community, but the nation at large. Should he and others of their ilk have their way, our country would have a completely open border and no military. Fortunately, most decent people can see through his ingenuous activism and recognize the radicalism that drives this sad excuse for a public official.
Cindy Sheehan – Mother of Casey Sheehan, an American soldier killed in the line of duty in Iraq, this woman has proven herself a pestilence ever since. She accuses President of “murdering” her son (the fact that her son joined the military of his own accord and that the bullets and RPGs that brought about his and his comrades’ deaths were fired by Iraqi insurgents and not our 43rd President notwithstanding.).
While attacking Bush as a murderer, she has no qualms embracing the likes of Hugo Chavez who has shown no reluctance in shutting down political opposition by force. She posits that 9/11 looked like a controlled demolition, suggesting that it was a government job. When Democrats had gotten all of the political capital they could, they abandoned her and eschewed her like the plague, knowing full well she had credibility issues.
Arrested at least twice, she has posted on DailyKos until her announcement that she would be running against Nancy Pelosi in the 2008 election. (I’m sure Ms. Pelosi was rather unconcerned.) DailyKos is a blog that is the epitome of trash-blogging where one contributor has even made the suggestion that Dick Cheney or Donald Rumsfeld ordered the death of Pat Tillman in Afghanistan through some clandestine conspiracy.
Between her vows to go live in a tree and her threats to help Nancy Pelosi get re-elected by running against her, Sheehan is a danger to herself and society at large. In wishing Hugo Chavez was President, she forgets that he would have no problem silencing her like he silences his opposition in Venuzuela.
Lennox Yearwood Jr. – Anti-war nut who attempted to force his way into the Petraeus hearings and was stopped by police. Resisted arrest and assaulted a police officer. Not particularly dangerous except to Cindy Sheehan in that he drew attention away from her sorry looking face.
I just discovered this web site during a Google search. From the lack of comments and traffic it would appear you do not receive regular visitors. You seem somewhat obsessed with my activities. Attacking my very public views while hiding behind a screen name is just as dishonorable as a Klan member covered with their hood. Try taking responsibility for your own views. Yes, there are risks when you engage in public life. But for democracy to thrive we need all of our citizens to become involved with the process in honest ways. We do not need to use our voices to tear down other people – as you seem to do here – but rather we need all of us involved in an effort to build up the common good. Your anger comes up clearly but I would encourage you to come out the dark place you know find yourself, be open about who you are, and see if the sunlight doesn’t change your views – maybe soften to your heart. In the meantime, I will pray again tonight that all Earth’s people become reconciled to God and to one another. – Rev. Chuck Currie
